A group is more than the sum of its individual members. Moreover every group has a life and power of its own. When a group of people gather together with a common goal or bond, there is massive potential to facilitate personal / professional growth and development. The important factor to understand is if the group facilitator lacks the understanding of group dynamics then there are more chances of group getting unsafe. Being in the role of facilitator can be challenging, stimulating and sometimes very hard.

If a group goes well, its members congratulate themselves, if it goes badly then its members blame the leader. Thus working within a group or team is never an easy task. The element of the work has to be more dynamic when you work in a team or as a group facilitator. In addition, you need to have good negotiation and planning skills. There are no defined rules that can tell what to do or how to build a strong bond between members of a group. But at time a good guidance and proper training can help you know more about various nuances of group management.

At ATI training and Education, we offer diploma course in Therapeutic Group Work that provides a comprehensive educational programme to know more about the group dynamic/process and difficulties within it, boundaries. This course is far more comprehensive and geared around offering practical support to participants' actual group work challenges. Whatever level of experience you have, this course will definitely take you to the next level, and beyond. The course includes various key units that meld together relevant theory and practice.

The major highlight of this Therapeutic Group Work course is different topics that are primarily focused on working in team and particular challenges that group facilitators usually face more often. The course provides an ideal platform to absorb, develop and consolidate knowledge and practical skills that are vital for use in group work.

Our Learning Process

The major highlight of this Diploma Therapeutic Group Work course is the delight of learning together through experimental group work or assignments. A strong emphasis is placed on experiential group work throughout the programme, which in turn helps participants in learning the realities of group dynamics.

In experimental group work/ personal development training, there is no teacher like practice. There will be work in large and small groups, role-plays and socio-dramas. Group process will involve the stages that groups tend to go through. Each stage will have its own distinct insensible dynamics and members will have certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours characteristic to each stage. The only way of learning about through this process is by engaging with it in an experiential way.

Thus involving in a group work process actually help the participant experience the skills that need to be applied in group work and improve personal group management skills. The aim of our experimental group work processes it to deepen participants' capacity for self awareness and gain an insight of group dynamics.
